Bloggers Block

The pressure is on. WIR seems able to knock out a blog at the drop of a hat whilst I, on the other hand, struggle with finding anything in my work/task related existence. A few times (like now when I should be doing next years budget) I've used it as work avoidance ... actually must dust the top of the lights sometime today.... and other times I've started and it's turned into one of those Christmas round robin things you get from someone you haven't seen for 30 years, whose youngest child's a bowel surgeon with a ferrari whilst she does good works in Nottingham town centre. I must dig that one out and post it to the web 'cos I can feel that you don't believe me. Just noticed that the 'virgin' version of the blogger spell check doesn't recognise the word 'blog'. So............it's just stopped raining..... I'm sat at home working out the implications of consolidating the accounts........ thinking about trying to find the words and music for Steve Still's 'Love the One You're With' (hey that should fill in an hour).... trying to get my head round the new VOIP technology...... can anybody help with what the hell is a SIP-Exchange?...... must do last year's home accounts... ah the cooker hood has still to be sourced or Ren Woman will giving me a supervisory appraisal........ oh and there's the export of the dog Cass to SA to finalise..... wills to sign... must send note to RW reminding her that she's forgotten to sign.... now then I need a subject for this blog.

Tea and tinnitus pills then maybe pop out for that carpet shampooer from top Bouch. You have to live in Aspatria to understand that last bit.

If you're interested in VOIP, we use skype, free download at www.skype.com. This means that I can keep in touch and have meaningless discussions with the folks in the UK and Ireland without stress about the cost (just our monthly broadband bill which we pay anyway).

We even have a regular Firday Evening down the virtual pub.....

It's simple enough to use and the quality is acceptable...

No idea what a SIP exchange is though.....

*grunts and waves club about*

You have to live in Workington to understand that one. Although my accent might be sightly off, being a southerner and all.

Is there then, still two Bouches in aspatria?, I remember that a shop opened on Castle Terrace, where among other things they sold frozen food, we would try and get some of the dry ice. What happened to the younger Bouch boy, who refused to matriculate, and was not allowed to leave school? I remember him sitting at the back of the class, glowering, and taking no part in the proceedings, with the masters ignoring him.
I did hear that they were related to the Thursby Bouches of more notoriety.

Anon: if same as a previous anon. I now have confirmation that the shop on Castle Terrace wa in fact previously occupied by George Allen. Middle Bouch baked and made ice cream there then moved across the road to King Street to premises of the 'Grosvenor Hotel' Currently middle Bouch is run by young Billy. Old Bill died last year. The non matric Bouch I think was Cephus's son Morris? ... wore a wig and stood on corners for a while .. I think he died too. Still quitea lot of them about. We have an 'account' and buy ouu aubergines/avocados there. The reason I say aubergine/avocado is because if we order aubergine we get avocado. I don't complain.

Anon - please expand on the notoriety of the Thursby Bouches. I thought they were the guys responsible for The Great Tay Bridge Disaster, but perhaps they have other skeletons trying to force their way out of a severely overcrowded cupboard?

the Bouch connection thickens. The current lot ... my contemporaries - Kevin and young Billy swear it wasn't one of them. They think that there was a distant cousin 'Mike' who was a bad lad. He now lives in Wigton and his kid's Wayne and Tommy are just as bad as he was. The Bouch naming convention seems to have 'wayned' since the days of Cephus and Luther. Billy is digging out the family tree as we speak.
