Les Delices De Cumbria - Part XIV

A visit to Kendal, that eventide home for bewildered hillwalkers, earlier today. I stumbled upon this ingredients-led restaurant. No, I can't work out what that means either.

Clearly a clever marketing strategy to fool the bewildered hill walkers! Presumably they are doing what most good restaurants do - see what their suppliers have delivered and then plan the menu accordingly.

You may well be right - though the major menu items seemed to be '2 for 1 paella'. I always thought that the point about paella was that you made it out of whatever you happened to have lying around (or in the original version whatever you'd shot or picked that day).

Hey - I live in Kendal - and it isn't really an eventide home for bewildered hillwalkers! I may be bewildered, but I'm not a hillwalker!

My favourite Cumbrian international delicacy is Waberthwaite Pancetta, as found in Booths. Pesonally I blame Jamie Oliver.

Gill - we are enthusiasts for Waberthwaite products here at the News
AD - I'm glad to be re-assured on that point. Nice blog, by the way - we shall be linking to you.
